In Season 1, 66 teams descend on Fiji for an epic global race that will last eleven days. The challenges push the participants to the brink of physical and mental exhaustion, testing their limits. While some participants want to win the race, most just want to survive it and make it to the end.
Bear Grylls is a British former SAS, a survival specialist, and honorary lieutenant-colonel. Besides his career in the army, he is also an adventurer, and a television producer/host, known for the "Man vs. Wild" TV series. Over the years, he has hosted several wilderness survival television series.
