First released in November 2018, Homecoming turned out to be a hugely successful suspense drama. Although season 1 seemed like it had concluded the story, the show creators had other plans and out came season 2 featuring a new protagonist and a new story. Now, the fans are dying to know when Homecoming Season 3 will be announced.

Amazon Prime Video has not yet officially announced the show’s renewal for Homecoming Season 3. But that doesn’t mean we should lose hope. In an interview with Digital Spy, the showrunners revealed that they have many ideas for the new season. "Each season, we're widening out a circle and then there are whole new ways to go," said Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg, who created the podcast on which it's based. "So yeah, we have plenty of ideas for a third season."

It’s also important to note that the second season came out in 2020 after the first season had dropped out in 2018. Clearly, there is a two-year gap between every season and it will be pointless to expect Homecoming Season 3 any time before 2022. If we also add to the mix the production halts caused by the COVID-19 situation, the delay in renewal makes sense. However, rest assured, the producers of the show are thoroughly excited for the new season.

Heidi Bergman (Julia Roberts) is a caseworker at Homecoming, a Geist Group facility helping soldiers transition to civilian life. Years later she has started a new life, living with her mother and working as a waitress, when a Department of Defense auditor questions why she left the Homecoming facility. Heidi quickly realizes that there's a whole other story behind the story she's been telling herself.
