Status for season 2
The series is NOT renewed for a new season. It has been cancelled and there will not be a season 2
Series Information:
An official announcement has not been shared by Netflix. However, the first season's initial release ended on January 6 2019, more than three years ago. Netflix renews most shows with the first six months of realease, with blockbuster hits often being renewed in the first few weeks after release.
In addition, lead actress Noxolo “Noxee” Maqashalala was found dead at her apartment in South Africa (March 2021). She had struggled with depression issues for years. As a result, due to the delay in announcing a renewal and the passing of the show's primary star, we have marked the show as unofficially "cancelled".
These unfortunate and tragic news put the season 2 at risk of getting cancelled
In this series, a high-level prosecuting attorney investigating a conspiracy is set up, sent to prison, and must defend her life and prove her innocence.

What’s the situation with the renewal of DIAMONDS CITY. Any news?
Noxolo “Noxee” Maqashalala, the actress in Diamond City passed away in March, 2021. I just finished watching this series, of which, I truly loved. Its not often, I enjoy watching the words on screen as well as listening, but these guys were all good. Ms Noxee was great, may she RIP. Adolescences to her family.

Can we get the update on season 2. This is really a twist of fate. I can’t wait to see what happens next?
I hate watching “cliffhangers”. Netflix has too many mini series ending with suspense. The most recent was “ Diamond City “ . Why would you leave a storyline with: Incarcerated prosecutor released police waiting outside of prison to arrest, and convincing evidence against led prosecutors of murder conspiracy, sex trafficking. Most of the mini series are really good, the production’s cast actors and actresses are entertaining . Nigeria and South African in my opinion movies and mini series are as equally entertaining as Hollywood, MGM, Warner Brothers productions. It’s annoying, disappointing when a season ends with unfinished storyline that’s canceled . I believe some of those mini series canceled polling must have fair, good and excellent ratings. It doesn’t make sense and appears Netflix has a problem with marketing strategist to support their entertainment industry.

I really pray that season 2 of Diamond City happens. It was an extremely well written Courtroom, Prison and Corruption filled drama. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Seriously!!!! Where are the new episodes. I watched Season 1 now I’m desperate for season 2. But other shows way less worthy of viewing you renew. MORE DIAMOND CITY PLEASE! EXCELLENT SERIES!

Agreed. I love Diamond City. It needs to continue. Stop going on hearsay. If the star is dead, find out. Clear her name and convict those involved in her framing. Don’t just leave it like that. Don’t keep us hanging on.
the lead actress died in real life, not her character. it says no foul play but does not say how she passed.

I just finished season 1 of Diamond City and thought it was great, one of the better series. I am begging you to continue to season 2 . It is so good and ended with us wanting more. let us know ASAP

I’m saddened to hear that the lead actress has died but to honored great performances someone needs to replace her character. This show is too good to end as it did – please don’t let this totally interesting show end!

I just got done watching Diamond City and was checking if there is season 2 and I was shocked to find out the passing of the talented actress. When police came to arrest her, I was saying to myself I hope she does not kill herself and was very saddened to learn her passing. My sincere and deepest condolences to her family and friends. May she RIP. It was a well done movie and was eager, like many of the audiences, to see what is next.
Netflix must stop presenting these series that just “stop” w NO RESOLUTION!!! Why show on the station when they know there’s no freaking ending! I binge watched Diamond City for 3 days only to discover that Netflix did it to me “AGAIN”!!!!
The leading lady is gone from life so how can Diamond City go on without her and she was the executive producer. What a very tragic loss for the industry, the fans and most importantly her family. Rest In Peace Noxolo “Noxee” Maqashalala you and Diamond City will be missed.

This was indeed a great flim but I really dislike episodes and this is disappointing that the lead actress passed. Short films are better and your not hanging on in suspense with episodes. Season 2 will be difficult with a new actress unless something happens to her in prison with her being killed after her disappointing release.
