Deep State Has Been cancelled With No Season 3

Series Information:

No official cancellation has been released by FOX. However, the second season of Deep State began airing season 2 in April (Fox) and May 2019 (Epix). A second season was approved in and premiered one year later in April 2019 in the US with Walton Goggins as an ex-CIA operative that gets involved into a crisis in Africa.

Season two finished on June 16, 2019, in the USA on Epix. The delay of 24+ months with no news means that Deep State is very likely cancelled at this time. Season 3 would have started airing around March-May 2020. It is possible that TV production shutdowns put plans on hold. Check the newslink above for more details (April 2021 update). Actors have also moved on to new roles, including star Walter Goggins.

It is possible that a new network decides to pick up the series to produce a season 3, but a new season is very unlikely to air in 2021.

Deep State centers around Max Easton, an ex-spy whose past comes back to haunt him when he's summoned away from his new life in the Pyrenees by George White, head of covert MI6/CIA team "The Section." White convinces Max to return to the field to avenge the death of his estranged son Harry. But the stakes are soon raised when Max finds himself at the heart of a covert intelligence war, immersed in a widespread conspiracy to profit from the spread of chaos in the Middle East. Max enters into a dangerous game as powerful corporations demonstrate that they are willing to go to great lengths to protect their reputation and bury their secrets. With such a strong undercurrent of corruption, who can Max trust? Who is telling the truth? And what must be done to uncover it? To find out, Max is going to have to throw himself back into the dangerous and brutal life he so desperately tried to leave behind.

Season 2 of the espionage drama Deep State will premiere on April 28 at 9 PM ET/PT. Viewers can catch up on the first season of Deep State before the season 2 premiere via EPIX NOW, the network's new streaming service available for download in the App store for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV and in Google Play for Android phones and tablets.

The second season dvelved deeper into the murky and political world of the deep state. Having failed in the Middle East, those powers are now turning their attention to sub-Saharan Africa and the scramble to plunder its natural resources. This is the first dirty war over clean energy. The series will also explore the origin stories of some of our favourite characters from season one alongside witnessing the fall of a hero and orchestrating the making of a terrorist in the eyes of the West.
