Status for season 2
The series is NOT renewed for a new season. It has been cancelled and there will not be a season 2
Series Information:
Based on the best-selling novel "The Silence of the Lambs" and promoted as the followup of the movie of the same name, the psychological crime drama Clarice has come to an end. That's right, to everyone's utter shock Clarice Season 2 is cancelled.
The show's fate went dark even though it was scheduled to move from the CBS to paramount+. This is one of those rarest and craziest situations where a show is silenced after getting a green light. Nobody was expecting this about a show based on a high-profile, heavily publicized intellectual property.
The speculations came after the negotiations between the ViacomCBS streamer and co-producer MGM were fruitless. The broadcast network's slate for the next season's series is already full with no hints about Clarice. This means that Clarice Season 2 is cancelled. But why did a show that seemed like a foolproof recipe for success face demise in such a way?
The reason is the unbelievable lack of audience numbers. Clarice did well on Paramount+ but on the network itself, the viewership numbers were embarrassingly low. It's not because CBS has low viewership because one of its most successful shows NCIS is still the most-watched show. People are watching CBS but they were averse to Clarice in particular resulting in Clarice Season 2 getting cancelled.
About the show:
"Clarice" offers a deep dive into the untold personal story of FBI Agent Clarice Starling as she returns to the field in 1993, one year after the events of "The Silence of the Lambs." Brilliant and vulnerable, Clarice's bravery gives her an inner light that draws monsters and madmen to her. However, her complex psychological makeup that comes from a challenging childhood empowers her to begin to find her voice while working in a man's world, as well as escape the family secrets that have haunted her throughout her life.

I’ve been waiting on this one ever since I first read about it. If it’s as good as Evil then CBS will have giant hits this season!
