Status for season 4
The series is NOT renewed for a new season. It has been cancelled and there will not be a season 4
Netflix officially cancelled Anne With an E Season 4 in 2019. Netflix and the CBC made a joint statement announcing that season 3 will be the final season of the show and that Anne's incredible journey has come to a conclusion.
The fate of Anne was left in mystery and the fans were heartbroken. Hoping to get it revived, they started a campaign on Twitter with the hashtag #RenewAnnewithanE. Ever since then, the hashtag has been used over one million times. The show's passionately dedicated fans also launched a petition on Change.org for Anne with an E Season 4. As of today, the petition has broken all records with over 1.5 million signatures. That's not it. The loyal fans also took the campaign to save 'Anne With an E' to a New York Times Square billboard. They weren't alone in their efforts. Ryan Reynolds also called for the show's renewal saying: “You guys might want to renew Anne with an E. Unless ‘final season is just a fun way of saying ‘halfway point'.”
So far, all the efforts have been fruitless and the show remains cancelled.
About the show:
At its heart, ANNE is a coming-of-age story about an outsider who, against all odds and numerous challenges, fights for acceptance, for her place in the world, and for love. The drama series centers on a young orphaned girl who, after an abusive childhood spent in orphanages and the homes of strangers, is mistakenly sent to live with an elderly spinster and her aging brother. Over time, 13-year-old Anne will transform their lives and eventually the small town in which they live, with her unique spirit, fierce intellect, and brilliant imagination. While the new series will follow a similar storyline to the book that millions of readers around the world know and love, it will also chart new territory. Anne and the rest of the characters in and around Green Gables will experience new adventures reflecting timeless issues, including themes of identity, sexism, bullying, prejudice, and trusting one's self.
