Why do we Predict Season 5 Will be Approved?
We believe that Seal Team is likely to be renewed for season 5 based on the following factors:
User scores remain very high:
Seal Team has a loyal fan base that is very engaged and loves the action-packed episodes that the Seal Team production team has consistently delivered, season after season, and episode after episode. Seal Team scores one of the top TVscorecards popularity score at 90%. The TVscorecards score remains steady in this new season. Many other TV series have seen downward trends in their user scores (probably due to the pandemic’s impact on production schedules) but Seal Team’s performance remains super-steady, episode after episode. This is a sign that there will be strong interest for season 5 from viewers.
Some of the top-rated episodes in this new season include:
Horror Has a Face (Jan 21st 2021): Ensign Davis tracks Ray’s location to a shipment container in the Mediterranee sea with the Bravo team trying to rescue Ray before it’s too late. The episode delivered amazing action, emotional tension and a great end to the story line.
Forever War (Dec 2nd, 2020): The Bravo Team reunites with Jason and Cerberus, and team up to go under ground to find booby-trapped tunnels built by terrorist Al-Hazred.
Why Would Seal Team Get Cancelled? (With no Season 5)
We have observed several signals that puts the show at risk of getting cancelled with no season 5 in 2021-2022. The main factor is viewership which is down by more than 10% versus last year.
The current season that released in 2021 is trending down in terms of viewership, with 4.2 average million viewers per episode. Viewership is the primary driver of renewal or cancellation of TV series so this does not bode well for Seal Team’s season 5. If the last episodes of this season start showing a decrease in viewership that is even more pronounced, we believe that season 5 would be at risk of getting cancelled.
However, viewership remains steady episode after episode in the first few months (despite being down versus last year) and user scores are still high. This indicates based on our analysis that viewership is likely to remain steady. As a result, there is no reason to believe that the current downward trend will accelerate. Seal Team has a loyal fan base that will likely continue to watch the show for the last episodes of season 4 and …. for season 5.

Possible reason that Seal Team viewership has dropped slightly – could be the fact that upon it’s return the episodes are spaced so far apart – they’re very strong with an intriguing storyline – Ex. Jason is now being charged with murder – however, in anticipation of the next week’s episode – no previews were shown and no indication if there will be an episode shown on 3/31! Do the powers that be, realize how unnerving this is to the viewers. It seems when there are excellent series (which are far and few between in continuity) – they’re bumped by some inane special. When will people realize the public lose once more! Please Seal Team honors the men and women we’ve lost and those who serve to protect the home front. If we lose quality TV – is it back to the radio?
TVScorecards says
Hi Karen, that’s a great point, and we will take this into account. Thanks for the perspective.

Love the show exciting and story lines definitely could be real….I watch the episode s with my wife and we truly enjoy it…I think because the episodes are biweekly it may cause viewership to drop some….it shows who the true heroes of this country and lay it on the line whenever they have an op against terrorism which is so prevalent in our world today…please please keep the show running into season 5 and longer

I love the show too , it’s one of my favorites. There isn’t a lot of good shows on these days so I hope it get another season plus the cast is pretty awesome

Seal Team is about the only thing I watch anymore, I have lost interest in everything else. If seal Team is taken off I will stop watching TV all together.
Dennis Crabtree says
Those are my regards exactly! That is the one show I look forward to watch every week it’s on. Otherwise I use my firestick to find movies.
Barbara Streak says
Seal Team is my favourite show – one of the best series on DSTV and I eagerly look forward to the episodes but, agree with Karen Ann Durler, that they are spaced so far apart and now nothing since 31/3/21 !!! Just when we get a quality series, powers that be either cancel or put some ‘special’ in its place – EXTREMELY frustrating!
Celie Florence says
Seal Team is the very best show ever on TV. I am 72 years old and have seen many series about the military. This by far is the most realistic. I think it starts with the writer ,directors and producers. Then they got the best cast possible. David ‘s character Jason has really brought out the best acting I have seen. He nails it every week. The whole cast is great. I think having real vets really pulls it all together.
Ken Young says
I agree with the others. Seal team is a great show. But, when it is spaced out so much, its frustrating to keep up with. Like showing the same episode of the United States of AL 2 weeks in a row in Seal team’s time slot. Come On Man!!!!
Sherry says
I love this show, please don’t cancel! And why are they spaced two weeks apart. That is why maybe some folks aren’t watching, not because they don’t want to but can’t remember which week it’s on?
Great show!
JB says
IF CBS cared about the viewers which equates to advertisers it would consistantly broadcast Seal Team. It seems every other week the show is preempted by something else CBS wants to showcase.
Seal team sure beats SWAT in realism and credibility. Yet SWAT has been broadcast consistantly without breaks in the schedule
Long ago I gave up watching CBS because of its leftist political leaning , and it was Seal Team that brought me back. If Seal Team is cancelled then Im gone .
Ill go back to watching Mission Impossible on Pluto.
Susan says
I agree with Karen. If networks would schedule several episodes in a row, ratings wouldn’t drop. Additionally, when we don’t know WHEN the next episode will air (without having to be a internet detective and try to find out WHEN it’ll return!), it’s hard to get totally invested in the program. I LOVE SEAL Team and watch every episode but, when a new episode hasn’t aired in the last 3-4 weeks, why get excited when it could be another month until we get the NEXT episode?! It makes it difficult to remember what the storyline consists of!
CBS could do better and then they’d be rewarded with better ratings!

Seal Team is a fantastic show. I’m in the UK and watch it avidly. It’s the only show that I settle down to with a nice drink and the phone on silent. I can really feel the intensity
and pressure of eachstoryline. There aren’t many shows that have you on the edge of your seat like this one does. The guys strive to do their best to portray things properly and do credit to those who both live that life or have lived that life not forgetting those who have given their life. It’s a fine line between going overboard on the dramatic licence and a true portrayal while also doing justice to the storyline. The balance is perfect. This show is a credit to each and every person involved in it’s making. Thanks to all of you. It would be a travesty if it’s cancelled.

The reason viewership is down is because of cbs not seal team. We fans of the series never know when it’s going to shown so there is no congruity to the series. This is my favorite show since the combat series of the 60’s. CBS needs to think about their viewers who love the actors and what they are doing to promote the military these days. We need our heroes! Please renew this series and you can get rid of bull, magnum pi, b positive, young Sheldon and more mindless comedies!
Jim cox says
Ps from my last comment. Please get rid of Hutto and lindell and bring back Mandy and Blackburn!
Lee says
Recording so I’m sure to get the episode whenever it appears. CBS has the MO of not promoting snd skipping weeks when it wants to kill a show. Been doing it for decades now. Been afraid this will happen since season short. Changing most of the characters so show is confusing. No promotion, interviews. Even the cast hasn’t had any chats on line this season like last year. Just is it still on has been my thoughts every week.
Gregory Dixon says
wouldn’t be that CBS keep pausing the show every other week would it. The show is outstanding it is the CBS crapola that is trying to kill it!
Garth says
I’ve been a loyal fan of SEAL Team since the beginning. I’m really hoping it gets renewed for Season 5 . The cast, the scripts, the attention to detail and the technical direction are excellent. It’s currently the only series I regularly watch. Fingers crossed for another season.
Fred Medina says
I have nothing but good things to say about this show. These actors are all amazing and the people behind the scenes need just as much credit. I have faithfully watched this show since the first episode of season 1. This show has taken me back to my days in the Army as a Combat Engineer and a Weapon Specialist. It gives me more appreciation for my time in service and for what I did for this country. In April of 2019 my wife was diagnosed with Glioblastoma and had surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. During her surgery I reached out to Justin Melnick and he responded in less than two hours. I told him everything that my family was going through. We stayed in touch and in July 17, 2019 the cast of SEAL Team did a video for my wife on set in their airplane and mailed a get well card as well. I still stay in touch with Justin to this day. I don’t know of any another show or cast that would have done this. They will forever be in our hearts and forever friends.

ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ON CBS, CBS HAS THE BEST PROGRAMING OF ALL THE NETWORKS, JUST KEEP WHAT YOU HAVE WITH NO CHANGES !! HATE IT THAT NCIS IS CHANGING, IT WIL NOT BE THE SAME WITH GIBBS GONE !!
Judy Brown says
Will be able to view Seal Team on CBS, or will it be Paramount +only?
