The new Netflix original series “Lupin” takes place in Paris with Assane Diop seeking revenge against a wealthy industrialist responsible for the death of his father. Assane uses techniques and tricks inspired by the fiction character “Arsene Lupin” to play tricks on his opponents.
Prediction: Lupin season 2 will be approved before March 2021

The Maurice Leblanc popular character, Arsene Lupin, was featured in 17 novels and several other short stories, for a total of 24 books. The first season refers to several novels (including Lupin’s “Aiguille Creuse”) so the series certainly doesn’t follow a linear order. More over, the Assane character is NOT Arsene Lupin itself, but takes inspiration from Lupin. However, the richness of stories from Maurice Leblanc Novels means there is a lot of potential for new plot and twists in the Netflix series.

The new "Lupin" series on Netflix showcases the story of a new "gentleman cambrioleur" (Thieve) in modern-day Paris. The series is inspired by the very popular "Arsene Lupin" novels. The hero, Assane Diop, decides to get revenge on Mr Pellegrini, a wealthy but corrupt industrialist who is responsible for the death of Assane's father. Assane is an expert thief who took inspiration from Arsene Lupin's techniques and mastery for deception.
