Deep State Cancelled with No Season 3

When Does ‘Deep State’ Season 3 Come Back on EPIX? The series may not return after all. Deep State is a British television espionage thriller, written by Matthew Parkhill and Simon Maxwell. The series was first aired in the UK on Fox in April 2018.

A second season was commissioned on 5 April 2018 and aired in April 2019.

No news is bad news for Deep State

Season two finished on June 16, 2019 in the USA on Epix. Since it has been more two years with no news, it is likely that Deep State is cancelled and will not be returning for Season 3. The new season would have normally started airing around March-May 2020 (per our estimates).

Could it be that season 3 is simply delayed by the pandemic?

Yes, it is possible that TV production shutdowns put plans on hold. However, season 3 would have been months in the works before the pandemic hit, and we would likely have received status updates from TLC.

Walton Goggins who starts as Nathan Miller; an ex-CIA operative in season 2 has moved on to act in The Righteous Gemstones, become a voice actors on Invincible, and will also play a new role in the upcoming series “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey”.

As a result, we believe that season 3 was not approved and will not be approved anytime soon. Check back for updates!

No official cancellation has been released by FOX. However, the second season of Deep State began airing season 2 in April (Fox) and May 2019 (Epix). A second season was approved in and premiered one year later in April 2019 in the US with Walton Goggins as an ex-CIA operative that gets involved into a crisis in Africa.

Season two finished on June 16, 2019, in the USA on Epix. The delay of 24+ months with no news means that Deep State is very likely cancelled at this time. It is possible that a new network decides to pick up the series to produce a season 3, but a new season is very unlikely to air in 2021.

Deep State centers around Max Easton, an ex-spy whose past comes back to haunt him when he's summoned away from his new life in the Pyrenees by George White, head of covert MI6/CIA team "The Section." White convinces Max to return to the field to avenge the death of his estranged son Harry. But the stakes are soon raised when Max finds himself at the heart of a covert intelligence war, immersed in a widespread conspiracy to profit from the spread of chaos in the Middle East. Max enters into a dangerous game as powerful corporations demonstrate that they are willing to go to great lengths to protect their reputation and bury their secrets. Season 2 of the espionage drama Deep State will premiere on April 28 at 9 PM ET/PT. The second season dvelved deeper into the murky and political world of the deep state. Having failed in the Middle East, those powers are now turning their attention to sub-Saharan Africa and the scramble to plunder its natural resources. This is the first dirty war over clean energy. The series will also explore the origin stories of some of our favourite characters from season one alongside witnessing the fall of a hero and orchestrating the making of a terrorist in the eyes of the West.
