It’s official. CBS has announced that Young Sheldon season 5 is coming to CBS.
The network has announced on March 30th that it has renewed the comedy for three additional seasons, starting with the 2021-2022 broadcast season, all the way to the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 season, in a rate multi-season approval. The news came on top of excellent ratings that saw the show increasing its viewership from a little over 8 million viewers per episode last year to over 9 million for the 2020-2021 season (9.6 million average so far).
Kelly Kahl, President at CBS stated in the press release: “YOUNG SHELDON dominates the broadcast comedy landscape by over +2.5 million viewers and is the lynchpin of CBS’ top-rated Thursday comedy lineup”. The series gets almost 10 million viewers every week.
