Major news in the Evil Dead franchise: after confirming cancellation of Ash vs Evil Dead without a season 4, Bruce Campbell followed up to announce that he will no longer play Ash in the franchise’s future movie or TV releases. He will executive produce the new Evil Dead movie to be released in 2022 (details below), but will not play Ash in that new movie.

Variety confirmed that “Evil Dead Rise” will be released in 2022 (source). The movie will be executive produced by Bruce Campbell but the actor is retiring from his acting role in the franchise. He confirmed that he will no longer be playing Ash.
The filming for the movie started on June 6, 2021 in New Zealand and was already half way through by July. October 27, 2021, Director Lee Cronin revealed that the filming was done. He also teased that over 6,500 liters of fake blood was used in the making of the sequel. We can only imagine how frightfully gory the movie would be. 8 months, 1 Covid Lockdown, 6,500 litres of blood, and more memories than my brain can even process. That is a wrap on #EvilDeadRise. Thank you New Zealand, it’s been a blast. Time to head home and cut this beast together. pic.twitter.com/iyah4vEEqL

About this show:
Ash vs Evil Dead Season 4 is cancelled despite the third season ending on a big cliffhanger. Bruce Campbell who played Ash finally announced the news of Ash vs Evil Dead Season 4 getting cancelled in a tweet and thanked Starz for the opportunity.
When Ash vs Evil Dead was streamed on Netflix, it became instantly popular with the subscribers. But the viewership during the real-time broadcast of the third season on Starz witnessed a steady decline. The network decided not to depend on the viewership received from Netflix and officially announced that Ash vs Evil Dead Season 4 was cancelled.
This news took the fans by surprise who rallied for the renewal. The fans launched an enthusiastic #BringBackBoomstick campaign on social media referring to Ash's weapon that he called broomstick. The campaign made some noise but not enough to persuade the network to renew or the streaming service to pick up the show instead.
If Ash vs Evil Dead Season 4 did happen, the creators shared that they would have focused on Ash navigating through a post-apocalyptic world together with his trusted sidekicks.
But all is not lost. While you can't enjoy the thrill of a new episode every week, you can definitely indulge yourself in an equally action-packed and terrifyingly gory movie sequel "Evil Dead Rise" in the cinamas soon. The movie's filming was finished in October 2021. After post-production, it is expected to get released in summer 2022.
And if you're gamer, you're in double luck because "Evil Dead The Game" is also coming in February 2022. The game will be releasing on every major gaming platform including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Ash vs Evil Dead is a comedy horror TV show featuring Bruce Campbell who reprises his "Evil Dead" film role as heroic, chainsaw-handed monster fighter Ash Williams, now an aging lothario who has successfully avoided responsibility, maturity, and heinous villains for the past 30 years. Constantly peering over his shoulder, Ash somehow knew that the Evil Dead would return for him. That day arrives when Ash commits an act of carelessness, unleashing a Deadite plague that threatens to destroy mankind. Co-starring in the half-hour series are Lucy Lawless as mysterious Ruby; Ray Santiago as Ash's loyal sidekick, Pablo Simon Bolivar; and Dana DeLorenzo as moody wild child Kelly Maxwell.
