In April, we predicted renewal of 911 for season 5. It’s now officially been confirmed by FOX on May 17th 2021. The series will be back for a new season next year.
In 2020, 9-1-1 received the highest ratings for a scripted series on FOX, by far. The first-responder drama series continue to perform very well for the network, despite the challenges presented by the pandemic and the wide fluctuations seen with TV ratings so far in 2021.
Will 911 be cancelled or renewed?
Despite the stress and challenges of real-life due to COVID, 9-1-1 continues to engage its audience, sustaining numbers from last year. As a result, we believe that the series will be renewed with season 5 coming next year.
Renewal chances: 84% (highly likely to get renewed)

Why Do We Think 9-1-1 Will be Renewed?
High viewership. The latest season started off on a high note with viewership at about 7 million viewers. In comparison to its competitive shows which have seen significant declines, 9-1-1 has done exceptionally well. Considering the ratings and viewership satisfaction score, there is no reason why FOX wouldn’t renew the show for season 5.
Both 9-1-1 and its spin-off are doing well. The spin-off 9-1-1: Lone Star first aired in January 2020 enjoyed the same success as its parent show. The network announced both their renewals at the same time. Now that they’re both airing back to back, it would make sense for FOX to renew its top shows soon and get a head start on pre-production.
Renewal/cancellation Status: Renewed for Season 6
